ABOUT

We are a brand new society for 2018 - try new sports, meet new people and keep fit!

We've spoken to countless people last year saying that they wanted to try new sports at uni - water polo, hockey, rowing and football were the most popular - but they were put off by membership costs and having to commit (or choose) one sport for the entire year due to their finances. We thought that there has to be a better way of keeping active and trying new sports; and that's when the Sport Experience was first imagined.

We will set up events where we treat our members to a taster session of a new sport - either run independently by us, or in co-operation with other societies at uni. If you love the new sport, we can get you in touch with the relevant society, and if not, try next week's session! We think you'll love all our events - we even run non-sport socials (such as bar crawls) for members to get to know each other a bit better.

Our yearly membership cost of £8 is noticeably cheaper than other sport societies - this is to ensure everyone can participate without worrying about finances. We will aim to use your membership costs to cover as many costs we have as possible - for some events (where transport is involved, or where fees are very high) we may have to charge extra to ensure we don't go into debt. We are non-profit, so we will keep costs as low as possible for everyone. Where costs are involved, normally it'll only be a few pounds extra!

Our society is open for ALL Swansea University students, so you're bound to meet all kinds of people via our events you might not have the chance to meet otherwise. If you're a Swansea Uni student, you should purchase the standard membership on the left. If you're at a different university, or just live in Swansea and want to get involved, you can buy an associate membership. Please note that all members must be of student age (18-27).
